I'm due two weeks from today. Friday the 13th--yuck. I'm still not at the point that I've heard every pregnant lady talk about where, "I just want to NOT be pregnant anymore!!!" I think that's a good thing, though I'm not sure if that means my body is telling me to chill out because I still have a while to wait or if my brain is forcing me to think like that so I never have to actually face my intense fear of labor and delivery.
As we laid in bed talking before drifting off to sleep earlier this week, I asked Grant if he was scared. He replied, "Well, yeah. But everybody we know has done it and they were all fine. We can do it too." He's so smart.
My doctor went ahead an ordered an ultrasound to check on her weight, which I had this morning. She's measuring at 7lb 6oz, but her actual weight could be a pound in either direction and I've still got 2 weeks to go, so we'll see. All the organs are looking great, including a perfectly functioning 4-chambered heart. She's still for sure a Kendra and not an Elliot--or as the technician said, "She hasn't grown anything." And, she's in the vertex (head-down) position, all good to come when she decides to. The due date the machine predicts based on her measurements is the 19th, not the 13th. Hmmm. My mom had both her babies 4 days early, but maybe we'll have a baby-free Valentine's Day.
But, here she is!
For some reason, I was really surprised with how defined her mouth and nose are...so pretty!
That's our beautiful baby girl...it's hard to believe that we'll meet her so soon.

Hopefully that's Ashley's nose and mouth that she's getting.
Although it seems like she might be getting my size if there are like three weeks left and she's already 7 pounds 6 ounces!
Haha. Well, hopefully my nose at least. Mine's much cuter for a girl than yours. :)
Awww! She's got an adorable nose and itty bitty mouth :-) Is there anything else that you need before she comes?
Hang in there. She surely is adorable. Can't wait to see her in color. I am glad you aren't to the point of "there's not enough room in here for both of us, one of us has to get out."
I'm so excited for you guys and Ash...believe what you're told, you are going to be GREAT with the labor and delivery. It's the most amazing thing IN THE WORLD! I do need your address so I can get your gifts sent to you...can you email me??
Oh, by the way...the US seems to do pretty well at showing definition of baby--I guessed Haddyn would have Scott's nose and my HUGE lips and everyone told me, "You can't tell that!!!" but guess what..yup, Scott's nose and my lips :) No worries, she'll be beautiful either way!
Beautiful ultrasound. She does sound like she is big. When Simeon was born he was only 6 pounds 1 or 2 ounces (just a bit lighter and he would have been 5 pounds something!)
Good luck in the upcoming 2-3 weeks!
Yeah, I'm taking a look at it again and I'm thinking, "Dang! That IS a big baby!"
Eh, oh well. Grant found on Wikipedia that babies with big birth weights are smarter. Coming from the near 10lb-er. :)
If she really is 7 lb 6 oz she is already bigger than my first 4 babies. Only the last 3 were bigger. Delivering a baby is such a great experience, definitely the most memorable of your life. May be scary to anticipate, but wonderful to remember.
OH! so sweet. I am so excited for you to have your baby!!! I just love babies. : )
I FINALLY downloaded the baby shower pictures and will e-mail them to you soon!
I was just thinking how fun it would be to have a February baby. I would totally do a Valentines themed party all the time - well if it was a girl.
Part of the reason I was so glad Ava was a late October baby - Halloween themed parties - so fun!
Eh, ultrasound measurements can be way off. But still, that's one good looking profile she's got there. No doubt she's beautiful.
