Ups and downs with Paxton

I was a little pretty darn nervous about this year of babies right on top of each other.  Fifteen months isn't as close as together as they can get, but I figured a preschooler, a toddler and an infant all under one roof was going to give us a run for our money.

And while there have been challenges with that, I'm so glad that we have Paxton in our family.  Specifically Paxton.  He's been a delight to get to meet and become acquainted with.

Apparently, we did have a slow point when Mother Nature decided there wasn't enough Awesome and Win in our lives, so she decided to sent illness after illness through and Paxton did not make it through the winter without falling ill as well.

This face pretty accurately captures my reaction to the barfies:

And this one captures his:

It was a very, very sad couple of days.

But he still managed to smile for us.

Luckily we've had some pretty big fun playing with him, too.

Though he seems to have quite a bit of fun on his own, too.

Mmm, delicious!

With the third baby, I know just what to do with gross, old cradle cap.

But with the him being the third baby, I just didn't have the oomph to bathe him again when his hair was all greasy from the baby oil I used on him even though I shampooed it pretty well.  I have a friend who's used baby powder when it's been one too many days since she's shampooed her hair, so I thought I'd try it with Paxton.  But when you douse a baby's hair with powder, it doesn't really absorb excess oil so much as it...

...makes him look like a tiny old man.

I must have overdone it.

To gear up for March Madness, I found the perfect pacifier.

Though often enough, he still doesn't seem that impressed.

But we are pretty impressed with him, our sweet little baby.

Ha ha! So many awesome pictures in this post. Your reaction to the puke. The baby powder head. And the sock-in-the-mouth picture. He thinks chewing on a sock is a totally normal thing to do.
