I was chatting with the IT guy at work and it turns out he's an avid photographer. Such a great hobby for meeting people. Anyway, he lent me a $1500 lens and some accessories. It was funny because the stuff actually made my camera look small.
That thing on top of the flash is a diffuser that keeps the people you take pictures of from looking like a rabbit staring into a car's headlights. This weekend I'm going to try and make something that accomplishes the same thing for myself. It's do-it-yourself time, baby!
What you can't see in these pictures is that this lens is exceptionally heavy. All told it was like 6 or 7 pounds I think. After one photo shoot I was tired of holding it up. It sure was a performer, though. Silent, fast, sharp. It uses ultrasonic vibrations to move the focus rings instead of a motor. Oooooooooo.
I put it all together and took some pictures of Ashley and Kendra. This is what I get to see when I walk in the door after work.
And sometimes I get to see (or experience) this
I love my little girls.

What a beautiful girl--both of them. Worth coming home for. What a monstrosity of a lens contraption though. Good pictures, however.
Big lens, cute girl.
Gotta love those grabby, pinchy little fingers. Simeon thinks it is big fun if he can make mommy jump from a pinch or from his cold hands.
Anyway as to the lens I agree with what's already been said, big, monstrosity, contraption, etc etc :)
Haha. Welcome home, Dad! Watch what Mommy does when I do ... this! That's why I still only wear hoop earrings when I'm going out withOUT the kids. I don't even trust 2 year olds yet! ;o)
